Event Name:

New Zealand Energy Scenarios TIMES-NZ 2.0 Agriculture Sector Webinar

Event Date:

30th Jul 2021 12:00pm-1:00pm

Description:

As we transition to a net-zero carbon economy by 2050, policy makers, investors and consumers are searching for tools to help them manage risks and seize opportunities. The updated New Zealand Energy Scenarios Times-NZ 2.0 will help New Zealanders think about our energy future and the range of trade-offs and choices we might face.

How close to zero emissions might we get? Where might we see emission sticking around longer? How much demand for energy might we see in the agricultural sector? And how do our two scenarios, Kea and Tūī, compare?

Our modelling shows diesel is the main source of carbon emissions in the agricultural sector. Further technological developments will be required to decarbonise the sector fully. So what technologies might we need?

Join us to explore the results of the New Zealand Energy Scenarios TIMES-NZ 2.0 at our Friday lunchtime webinar focusing on the Agriculture sector. There will also be time for Q&A with the TIMES-NZ 2.0 team.

This new work builds on BEC2060, adding more detail and sophistication to sectors, sub-sectors, technologies and end use.
