BEC2050 Energy Scenarios – MARKEL
Introducing BEC2050 – Navigating New Zealand’s Energy Future
Christoph Frei, welcomes the BEC2050 Energy Scenarios
David Smol and Mike Bennetts talk about the scenarios
The BusinessNZ Energy Council, in conjunction with a wide variety of organisations – business, academia, government and non-government - has prepared two different and equally plausible scenarios of New Zealand’s energy future out to 2050. Their purpose is to help us think about what our energy future might look like, and the range of trade-offs and choices we might need to make along the way as New Zealand faces rapidly changing patterns of energy use, emerging disruptive technologies and, above all, the challenge of living sustainably.
