Connecting YEPN members with the wider energy industry

A big thank you to all YEPN members who responded to our online satisfaction survey earlier this year, and congratulations to Buddhika Rajapakse for winning a complimentary ticket to the Downstream Conference! The feedback received shows that our events and newsletters provide value to our members, and we are committed to keeping it that way. You identified the themes of Environment, People and Economy as very relevant to you, and we will make sure we address these topics in depth and involve you in the network's discussions.

In this newsletter, we are very proud to launch a YEPN Mentorship Programme, aiming at connecting you with the wider energy industry and senior professionals. This new member benefit could make a real difference to your career, but we need your engagement and feedback to make this work. You will find more details in the newsletter below.

The YEPN leadership team will continue to engage with you at upcoming industry events, and seek your views on how we can improve our services. In the meantime, you can get in touch with us by email at yepn@bec.org.nz to share your views and ideas.

On behalf of the
Young Energy Professionals Network
YEPN Mentoring Programme
YEPN is proud to launch a new member benefit: the YEPN Mentoring Programme. Mentoring is a critical tool for young professionals to receive personalised career advice and expand their industry knowledge and network. The idea was presented at the March Downstream Conference and has already proven to be very attractive to prospective mentors. We are now looking for expressions of interest from YEPN members keen to meet with their senior peers. Email us at yepn@bec.org.nz for more information and to register your interest.
Congratulations to Buddhika Rajapakse for his FEL nomination!

He joins fellow Future Energy Leaders Bennet Tucker and Daniel Gnoth.
Launch of the NZ Biofuels Roadmap
Scion, New Zealand's Forest Research Institute, has recently released a Biofuels Roadmap, which outlines the benefits of a biofuelled future for New Zealand and pathways to get there.  The roadmap explores different modelling options, from 5% to 50% biofuel substitution rate to conventional fossil fuels, and aims to pave the way for green fuels in the transport industry.
27th World Gas Conference (WGC)
